Managing Director Role: Overview
DesignYourDorm (DYD) is looking for an interested and highly entrepreneurial individual to take the reins of the business and become Managing Director for the popular website aimed at High School seniors heading off to college. The employee in this new leadership position will have the ability to run the day-to-day operations of the site and be responsible for growing the business. The ultimate goal is to build on the foundation of an already successful website, grow the audience in 2019, and raise funding to hire other employees and scale the business into the future, with the opportunity to eventually take on a full-fledged CEO position.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a) an individual with startup experience willing to apply themselves full-time to DYD or b) a business student graduating from College in the Fall of 2018 who is entrepreneurial, has a passion and interest in digital, and a knack for solving tough problems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Google Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for Entrepreneurship and Experience in Leading/Building
- Experience is sales or business development is a plus
- Business Degree Preferred, MBA a bonus
What will you get in return?
In exchange, the Managing Director will receive equity over a 4 year vesting period. The equity shared will depend on the specific skill set of the individual, but will be an enticing share. Since the company does not currently have the funds to support a full-time salary, the compensation will be solely in the form of equity. Other similar 3D designer concepts have been heavily invested in or acquired in the past five years and it is an unparalleled opportunity to get in at the ground level and have an opportunity to make more than a salary could provide. Not only is their the equity incentive, but the Managing Director will also have the ability to oversee the website, growth, and overall company operations.
